curnowc Posted July 6, 2011 Report Share Posted July 6, 2011 Joint Meeting Proceedings of the Board of Trustees Elementary District No. 2, Yellowstone County High School District No. 2, Yellowstone County Billings, Montana Policy Review Committee and Ad Hoc Committee For 2011 Strategic Planning April 15, 2011 Call to Order The Joint Committee met on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 12:00 noon at the Lincoln Center, 415 North 30th Street, Billings, Montana. The meeting was chaired by Trustee Barbara Bryan. Committee members present were Trustee Barbara Bryan. Trustee Connie Wardell and Trustee Kathy Aragon via conference call.. Also present were Superintendent Keith Beeman and Leo Hudetz, Clerk. Trustee Greta Besch-Moen was also present Doug Eadie Proposal. Trustee Barbara Bryan went over the newly proposed agreement between Doug Eadie & Company, Inc. and the Billings Public Schools. She told the committee that after attending the NSBA convention in California, she recommended that instead of moving forward with strategic planning the focus should be on 21st Century Learning along with visioning for the district. Trustee Bryan would like to see visioning to start this fall. Connie Wardell would like to see the entire board interviewed by Doug Eadie not just a select few. Trustee Besch-Moen discussed redistricting and the community engagement process. She suggested that a plan be developed and put it out for detailed public consideration. Kathy Aragon suggested using Davis Demographics and utilize their software to come up with different scenarios. Trustee Connie Wardell made the following motion with a second by Trustee Bryan. Motion to recommend taking the proposal prepared by Doug Eadie & Company, Inc.to the board for approval after adding that the entire board be interviewed by Doug Eadie and that the strategtic planning portion be removed.
