Diane Blevins Posted September 8, 2008 Report Share Posted September 8, 2008 Proceedings of the Board of Trustees District No. 2, Yellowstone County High School District No. 2, Yellowstone County Billings, Montana September 2, 2008 CALL TO ORDER The Agenda Setting Board Meeting of the Board of Trustees of School District No. 2, Yellowstone County, Montana, and High School District, Yellowstone County, Montana, was duly held at The Lincoln Center, 415 North 30th Street, Billings, Montana, September 2, 2008, at 12:00 p.m. Those present included Trustees Katharin Kelker, Malcolm Goodrich, Joel Guthals, Mary Jo Fox, District Clerk Leo Hudetz, Superintendent Jack Copps, Nancy Hines, Scott Anderson, Thomas Harper, Dan Martin, and Dave Williams. The Chair reported Trustee Mossman would provide information for the study session on Board Standing Committees for the September 15th meeting. Board approval may be required. Nancy Hines will provide a time frame from now until November 2009 for the bond issues. The time frame will need to be adopted by the Board. A new motion will be also be required to change the date of the public meeting on facilities. Nancy Hines is in charge of reviewing applications for the task forces and members will also be appointed. Information and results for No Child Left Behind will be available at the September 15th meeting. Changes for the 1700 Policy may also be on the agenda as well as complaint procedures against staff. The Superintendent’s Report will include preliminary census information. Jack Copps said dual Credit has been shut down due to the cost to the District. Costs are too high for some people to pay and too few students have signed up. Scott Anderson stated a survey on the meth project would be included in the Consent items. A report from the Budgeting for Results Committee will also be included following the legal update. A report from MTSBA will follow the Superintendent’s Report. MCEL is scheduled to be held in Billings in October. A meeting will be set up with the legislators following the November election. School visitation teams were discussed. Trustee Guthals suggested an elementary Board member attend the high school visits with the high school trustees.
