curnowc Posted January 26, 2010 Report Share Posted January 26, 2010 Proceedings of the Board of Trustees, Trustee Screening Committee Elementary District No. 2, Yellowstone County Billings, Montana Call to Order The Trustee Screening Committee met on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 10:15 AM at the Lincoln Center, 415 North 30th Street, Billings, Montana. The meeting was chaired by Barbara Bryan. Those present included: Trustees Barbara Bryan, Peter Gesuale and Mary Jo Fox. Also present was Leo Hudetz, Clerk. The vacancy that occurred in Trustee District 1 because of the resignation of Dawn Achten was discussed. The committee agreed that the following questions should be answered by each applicant for the position: a) Why do you want to be a School District No. 2 Trustee? b) What education and/or practical experience do you have which would qualify you to understand and oversee the school district budget? c) Are you willing and able to devote time to evening and daytime meetings? Are you willing to spend time reading about and learning about best practices in school board leadership and school district management? Do you think this is important? d) In general terms, what do you think are the primary functions and responsibilities of a school board?
