Diane Blevins Posted April 30, 2010 Report Share Posted April 30, 2010 Proceedings of the Board of Trustees District No. 2, Yellowstone County High School District No. 2, Yellowstone County Billings, Montana April 28, 2010 CALL TO ORDER The Trustee Orientation Committee Meeting of the Board of Trustees of School District No. 2, Yellowstone County, Montana, and High School District, Yellowstone County, Montana, was duly held at The Lincoln Center, 415 North 30th Street, Billings, Montana, April 28, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. Members present included Trustees Barbara Bryan, Travis Kemp and District Clerk Leo Hudetz. Trustee Bryan reviewed the handouts. She felt there was not enough time to compile the entire orientation packet and presented an abridged version for the new trustees in May. Website information will also be given to the new trustees. Those present reviewed the abridged packet and agreed the following should be included on a CD for each trustee: policies, minutes, and additional links for further information. New trustees should meet with the executive directors to gain insight for the intricacies of the District. A separate session with Mr. Hudetz will be scheduled for parking passes, identification cards, Board emails and computers. Another meeting will be scheduled for each new trustee to meet with Malcolm Goodrich and Jeff Weldon, legal counsel. Those present recommended a mentoring program for new trustees, appointing a long-term trustee to serve as a mentor to a newly-elected trustee. Trustee Bryan will make revisions and give the revised version to Leo to be produced for new Board members.
