Call to Order

 

The Trustee Screening Committee met on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the Lincoln Center, 415 North 30th Street, Billings, Montana.

 

The meeting was chaired by Kathy Aragon.

 

Those present included: Trustees Kathy Aragon, Travis Kemp and Mary Jo Fox. Also present were Leo Hudetz, Clerk, and Rob Rogers of the Billings Gazette. Trustee applicant, Greta Besch Moen joined the meeting at 10:50 AM.

 

The vacancy that occurred in Trustee District 3 because of the resignation

of Mary Jo Fox. The resignation becomes effective September 1, 2010.

 

The members of the committee interviewed Greta Besch Moen regarding her interest in the trustee position. Ms. Besch Moen told the committee that she believed communication between the board and the public is very important. She is also prepared to deal with the difficult budget questions that lie ahead for the board. Ms. Besch Moen stated that she would like to see a strategic plan developed with the interests of the district students as a priority while at the same time living within the fiscal constraints of the budget.

 

The following motion was made by Trustee Wardell seconded by Trustee Kemp: Recommend to the full board trustees that, contingent upon satisfactory background and reference checks, Greta Besch Moen be appointed as Trustee to fill the vacancy in Trustee zone three.

Those voting in favor of the motion were trustees Aragon, Kemp and Wardell. The motion passed unanimously.
