Proceedings of the Board of Trustees

District No. 2, Yellowstone County

High School District No. 2, Yellowstone County

Billings, Montana

March 8, 2011

CALL TO ORDER

The Agenda Setting Meeting of the Board of Trustees of School District No. 2, Yellowstone County, Montana, and High School District, Yellowstone County, Montana, was duly held at The Lincoln Center, 415 North 30th Street, Billings, Montana, March 8, 2011 at 12:30 p.m.

Those present included Trustees Connie Wardell, Greta Besch Moen, Lindy Graves, Barbara Bryan, Travis Kemp, Joel Guthals, District Clerk Leo Hudetz, and Superintendent Keith Beeman. Trustees Teresa Stroebe, Joyce Weber, and Kathy Aragon were excused. Others present were Thomas Harper, Scott Anderson, Kathy Olson, Gail Surwill, and Dave Williams.

Registered guest was Jeri Anton.

Chair Bryan went through the proposed agenda for March 21, 2011. An item will be added to appoint Trustee Besch Moen to the Strategic Planning Committee. Members of the Planning and Development Committee will be invited to attend the meeting for their report. The mill levy discussion was removed from the agenda and would be discussed at a later date.

Trustee Guthals asked Thomas Harper if there would be anything to be reviewed by the Budgeting for Results Committee. Mr. Harper reported there were no issues.

Trustee Guthals reported he made a visit this month at the Adult Education Transition Program. He felt a report should be given to the Board on the program. It’s funding is from the high school district, not adult education. Transitions addresses the drop out rate, therefore, if the program is considered for cuts, it would impact the high school district. A presentation will be given at the April meeting.

Trustee Wardell requested a discussion on boundaries for a future meeting.

As there was no further business, the meeting adjourned at 12:36 p.m.

Barbara Bryan, Chair

Diane Blevins, Recorder
