obied
PROCEEDINGS OF TWENTY-YEAR SCHOOL FACILITIES PLANNING COMMITTEE School District 2 May 17, 2005 The meeting was called to order to co-chair Barb Bryan at 6:40 pm. Committee members present: Barb Bryan, Peggie Smith, Ed Workman, Randy Hafer, Matt Brosovich, Mike Marnin, Tim Cranston, Ludlow Howe Guests present: Shannon Sprenkle of Lockwood and two additional Lockwood parents DRAFT REPORT AND EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The committee discussed report revisions made since last week (changes previously suggested by committee members), and reviewed and commented on new report text completed since last week. A draft executive summary was also reviewed briefly, and revisions were suggested. Barb will continue work on the report, with the goal of printing bound draft copies for committee review before the next meeting. Barb reported that she is also working on a detailed accounting of the May 10 meeting for use in the final report. At the May 10 meeting (last week), the committee went through an extensive discussion process to arrive at its draft final recommendations regarding high school facility use. DATE OF BOARD PRESENTATION The planning committee thinks that the June board meeting might be a feasible presentation date. However, much work remains to be done on the report. The critical report sections on demographics and enrollment projections have not yet been completed by Tim. FORMAT/CONTENT OF PRESENTATION TO BOARD The committee discussed the format and content for the presentation to the board, including length, use of graphics and so on. We will continue to try to get a meeting date and location established so that we will have better information for decision making. UPDATE ON CONSULTANT SELECTIONS FOR BOND REVIEW No new information was available on this topic. The meeting adjourned at 8:50 pm. ____________________________ Barbara Bryan, Co-Chair
