coen Posted October 10, 2005 Report Share Posted October 10, 2005 Proceedings of the Board of Trustees District No. 2, Yellowstone County High School District No. 2, Yellowstone County Billings, Montana October 6, 2005 Call to Order The quorum of the Board of Trustees of School District No. 2, Yellowstone County, Montana, and High School District, Yellowstone County, Montana, met at the Billings Depot, 2310 Montana Avenue, Billings, Montana, October 6, 2005, at 5:30 p.m. Roll Call Trustees and officers present included: Katharin Kelker, Sandra Mossman, Mary Jo Fox, Dawn Achten, Karen Moses, Joel Guthals, Dale Getz, Conrad Stroebe, and Superintendent Rod Svee and District Clerk Leo Hudetz. Trustees Malcolm Goodrich and Mary Jo Fox were excused. .Special Guests included: State Representatives Monica Lindeen and William Glaser, State Senator Robert Story and Jack Copps, Executive Director on the Montana Quality Education Consortium. Approximately 85 people were in attendance An Evening for Education This event that was sponsored by District No.2 Board of Trustees was held to inform and receive input regarding the State of Montana’s response to the Montana Supreme Court’s mandate to provide quality education to Montana’s K-12 students. The event was moderated by Katharin Kelker. Representatives Lindeen and Glaser and Senator Story are members of the Quality Schools Interim Committee were part of the panel and presented the committee’s work to date and answered questions from the audience. Jack Copps was also a member of the panel and gave his opinion and answered questions regarding the status of the committee’s work and the issues needed to be considered in providing quality education to Montana’s students. The event was coordinated by Trustee Sandra Mossman and hosted by Goodrich Law Firm and the law firm of Guthals, Hunnes, Reuss and Thompson. There were no decisions made regarding school district business at this meeting.
