Chair Dale Getz called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. Sub-Committee members present were K. Dale Getz, Jerry Hansen, and Shanna Henry. Sub-Committee members absent were Curt Prchal, Peter Grass, and Tim Cranston. Also present was Business Manager Thomas Harper. Work Study Session on Budget FY2006-07 Thomas presented spreadsheets detailing instructional Elementary and High School General Fund actual costs and FTE by site. Accreditation requirements were also shown for comparison to actual. The spreadsheets were reviewed by the sub-committee. Shanna was requested to bring research data on optimal class size per grade level vs. educational merit. The committee recognizes the diverse needs among school sites. We do not have full classrooms at the high school level. If we as a community want all other offerings, we must recognize that we must pay for it; otherwise, we need to have less offerings or alternative ways to serve students. These spreadsheets will be reviewed by the Board on Monday, March 27, 2006. They will also look at the traditional method of budgeting FY2006-2007 that will show a shortfall of $2.6M in elementary and a shortfall of $1.8M in the high school. The District received $4.3M from the State, not including the one-time funding, and bargaining raises given were $4.4M. Adjournment There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:10 p.m. K. Dale Getz, Chair Sherrill Sullins, Recorder
