A - WELCOME AND ORIENTATION TO THE MEETING Pledge to Flag Roll Call The Chair shall state: “Welcome to the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Billings Elementary and High School District. Agendas and welcoming information about the conduct of the meeting are available at the table in the back of the room. If you plan to speak to the Board today, please familiarize yourself with that information, then fill out and submit the public comment form. This is used to help me to recognize you properly at the appropriate time, and to assist me in running the meeting smoothly.” B – COMMUNICATION FROM THE PUBLIC The Chair shall state: “Anyone wishing to address an item listed on the agenda, but not wanting to wait for the scheduled time, may do so now. (No action will be taken by the Board until the scheduled agenda time.) If you have not already done so, please fill out the public comment form available at the back of the room. This will allow me to recognize you properly before you address the Board.” In addition, the Trustees will receive written communication at this time. C – STUDENT EDUCATION PROGRAM ISSUE Jeff Weldon, District Counsel, will ask the Chair to close this part of the meeting to protect the privacy of a student. D – HIRING OF CLERK/INTERNAL AUDITOR The Board of Trustees directed staff to coordinate the hiring process for this position. Chair Kelker appointed Trustees Dimich, Moses and Stroebe to serve as an interview committee. The committee interviewed candidates on September 8, 2004, and will report its recommendation to the Board. The Board may act upon the recommendation.
